Poythress opts for Wildcats

Alex Poythress, a 6-foot-7 wing from Northeast High (Clarksville, Tenn.) Thursday picked Kentucky over the University of Memphis, Florida, and Vanderbilt.

Alex Poythress, a 6-foot-7 wing from Northeast High (Clarksville, Tenn.) is leaving the state of Tennessee.

Poythress committed Tuesday to play for the University of Kentucky.

He chose the Wildcats over Memphis, Vanderbilt, and Florida.

The Tigers will now focus their attention on Southwind (Memphis, Tenn.) forward Jarnell Stokes and Miller Grove (Atlanta, Ga.) center Tony Parker.

The Tigers got a commitment Tuesday from Southwest Dekalb (Decatur, Ga.) William Goodwin and are awaiting his national letter of intent.
