TCU co-offensive coordinator Justin Fuente has agreed to become the next football coach at the University of Memphis, multiple sources close to the situation told TigerAuthority.com.

The U of M search committee, led by President Shirley Raines and co-chairs Brad Martin and Willie Gregory, held an emergency meeting at 5 p.m. this evening.

They collectively decided on Fuente as the next coach.

Fuente succeeds Larry Porter, who was fired two weeks ago after going 3-21 in two seasons.

He is expected to be introduced tomorrow around noon.

Alabama offensive coordinator reportedly was offered the job and accepted; however, he backed down earlier today for reasons that are unclear at this time. Assistants' salaries were one issue, a source said.
