Kentan Facey picked Connecticut late Wednesday night following an unofficial visit. He's their first 2013 pledge.

Kentan Facey committed to dream school on Thursday.

“That was the only school I knew anything about when I came to the states,” Facey told Zach Braziller, of the New York Post. “I was always a UConn fan, I always liked UConn.”

Facey, a standout at Long Island (N.Y.) Lutheran, but a native of Jamaica, committed to Jim Calhoun and his staff following an unofficial visit on Wednesday.

“It just felt right at the moment,” Facey told the New York Post. “Everything was just perfect -- the situation, the campus is beautiful, the coaching staff is superb, all of that came together.”

Facey, a 6-foot-8, 205-pound power forward, is Connecticut's first commitment for the 2013 class. He's regarded as the No. 14 center in the class and rates as a four-star prospect.
